Carmen Delgado

Flute Teaching Artist

Carmen is a Venezuelan flutist  who began her musical studies trough El Sistema. During her musical education, she had the opportunity to be part of the Flute Academy of Venezuela under the guidance of teachers such as Javier Montilla, Raimundo Pineda, Víctor Rojas, Manuel Rojas and Alexis Angulo. Additionally, she participated in masterclasses with renowned masters including Philippe Bernold, Davide Formisano, Michael Kofler and Sofía Vilands.

At the orchestral level Carmen was a member of the National Children's Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela in 2010 under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle. In 2014, she joined the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Caracas under the direction of Maestro Dietrich Paredes, with whom she performed at prestigious theatres such as Musikverein in Vienna, Cité de la Musique in Paris, Tonhalle in Zurich, Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, La Scala in Milan, Palacio de La Música Catalana in Barcelona, among others. In 2016, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Caracas transformed into the Symphony Orchestra of Caracas, and Ms. Delgado assumed the role of principal flutist in the orchestra.

In 2017, she became a member of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, under the guidance of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel. In 2019, Ms. Delgado performed with this orchestra at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and Zaryade Concert Hall in Moscow under the baton of Maestro Christian Vásquez. She remained a member until 2021, when she moved to New York City. Since then, she has received private lessons from Maestro Robert Langevin at the Juilliard School and performed with renowned orchestras such as The Villages Philharmonic in Orlando, Florida and The CMI at The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas.

Carmen also has a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication with a specialization in marketing at Andres Bello Catholic University (UCAB), Caracas, Venezuela.
