Joe Kozlowski

Brass Teaching Artist

Joe Kozlowski is a trumpet player, composer, arranger, and the brass teaching artist with Project Music. Originally from Rochester NY, Joe studied jazz trumpet under the instruction of Clay Jenkins at the Eastman School of Music.

He started with Project Music in the fall of 2014 and in that time has taught trumpet and trombone, composition, arranging, and jazz improvisation. He has had the opportunity to be a guest instructor with other El Sistema inspired programs including the Archipelago Project, Salty Cricket Composers Collective, and the Paterson Music Project where he currently teaches composition and improvisation.

Joe currently resides in New York City and in addition to his position at Project Music performs around New York as a freelance musician. Joe is a strong advocate for social change through music education and feels honored to be in the company of like minded musicians at Project Music.
