Preparing for the El Sistema Residency: OrchKids and Tuned In Join Forces

Garrett Mendez, our artistic director, recently visited Tuned In Peabody for the El Sistema Residency prep, where he collaborated closely with students from renowned programs like OrchKids from the Baltimore Symphony and Tuned In from the Peabody Conservatory.
This collaborative effort, orchestrated by composer and conductor Giovanni Santos, is set to unite over 120 young musicians and teaching artists for an exceptional experience. Culminating in a performance by the globally acclaimed beatboxer Kaila Mullady, this event serves as the Northeast Regional Hub event for all Sistema-inspired programs in the US, highlighting the power of music education and collaboration.
