Stronger Together: PROJECT MUSIC and INTEMPO Unite for Summer Music Sessions
This summer, PROJECT MUSIC is excited to announce a dynamic new partnership with INTEMPO, bringing together two organizations committed to making music education accessible and transformative for young people in the Stamford area. Through a collaborative four-week summer program, string students will experience expanded opportunities to grow as musicians and artists.
This partnership represents a key part of PROJECT MUSIC's "Stronger Together" strategic initiative—a forward thinking approach that embraces intentional collaboration to strengthen our impact and expand our reach. Rather than operating in isolation, we're building meaningful partnerships that allow us to share resources, combine expertise, and ultimately serve more young musicians in our community.
"We're living in a time that demands innovation and collaboration," said Gabrielle, Executive Director of PROJECT MUSIC. "While funding landscapes shift, our commitment to our students remains unwavering. Through partnerships like this one with INTEMPO, we're not just maintaining our programs – we're enhancing them. When two organizations with aligned missions come together, we create something more powerful than either could achieve alone."
The summer sessions will blend PROJECT MUSIC's El Sistema-inspired approach with INTEMPO's commitment to making classical and intercultural music relevant, inclusive, and accessible. Led by PROJECT MUSIC's Lead String Teaching Artist Quan Jiang alongside INTEMPO's teaching staff specializing in strings and guitar, students will benefit from expanded teaching resources, diverse musical perspectives, and a broader network of mentorship and support. Music education interns from Princeton University will also support the sessions.
"Collaboration is the beating heart of INTEMPO's work, which is why I'm excited to partner with Project Music this summer to reach as many Stamford-area aspiring young musicians as possible," said Lou Chen, CEO of INTEMPO.
The "Stronger Together" campaign reflects PROJECT MUSIC's strategic response to changing times. Instead of viewing challenges as limitations, we're approaching them as opportunities to think more creatively, work more collaboratively, and serve our community more effectively. This partnership with INTEMPO is just the beginning of what we can accomplish when organizations unite around shared values and common goals.
This summer program will offer students an enriched musical experience while demonstrating the power of community organizations working together. By pooling our resources and expertise, PROJECT MUSIC and INTEMPO are creating new possibilities for young musicians and showing what's possible when we choose collaboration over competition.
Registration is open now, and all PROJECT MUSIC string students receive a scholarship to participate. We look forward to a summer filled with music, growth, and the kind of meaningful connections that happen when communities come together.
