Summer Camps and Programs

H.K. Miserocchi Summer Institute

PROJECT MUSIC proudly introduces our newly re-named summer programming. In honor of one of our longtime supporters and friends, we provide inspiring and engaging programs that encourage young people to explore the power of music and its potential for personal and professional growth. Join us for unforgettable experiences and take your music to the next level!

  • For young musicians who want to learn, lead, and level-up.

We are excited to invite students to register for a new summer session experience. Designed for PROJECT MUSIC students who don’t want to lose momentum over the summer. The Summer Studio Session is a once-a-week creative intensive where students can receive instruction in small-group studio settings.

Participants will break into focused sectionals by instrument (flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, low brass, and percussion) for targeted skill development, ensemble precision, and repertoire refinement.

(String Students - be sure to check out our partner programs with INTEMPO and Harmony at Juilliard!)

Regular studio sessions will meet Tuesdays (June 23-July 21) from 4:30 - 6:00pm at UCONN’s downtown Stamford campus.

Three additional summer daytrips (June 20, July 11, and July 25) are built into the program experience. These outings combine recreation, relationship-building, and performance opportunities. Details to come! We have some exciting excursions in the works.

Who should register? PROJECT MUSIC students who have been in program for at least 1 year - brass, winds, percussion in either Beginning or Concert Band.

Why should you register? Continue making music over the summer and show initiative! When you work to learn and level-up you open the door to future leadership and performance opportunities. Also - daytrips!

How much does it cost? $50. The remainder of participation costs are covered through scholarships.

    Please Note:

    • Transportation to and from weekly studio classes is not covered.

    • Students must be available for AT LEAST 4 of the 5 weekly classes to participate in the daytrips.

  • PROJECT MUSIC has been invited to partner with Accademia Filarmonica del  Mediterraneo in Trani, Puglia Italy in 2027. We are grateful to Sujari Britt, world renowned cellist and Artistic Director of the Accademia who will help us kick off a year-long concert series that will build funding to bring a select group of PROJECT MUSIC students to Italy in 2027. More news to come on our concert series and summer program!

PROJECT MUSIC Partner Programs

PROJECT MUSIC proudly boasts an extensive array of valuable partnerships, each designed to enrich the lives of our students through transformative sleep-away and intensive musical experiences. At PROJECT MUSIC, we believe that every young musician deserves the opportunity to bask in the joys of a summer camp adventure. To bring this vision to life, we work in close collaboration with both families and dedicated partners who share our passion for nurturing musical talent.

  • Musical Theater and Strings

A collaboration between INTEMPO and PROJECT MUSIC, this six-week program is designed for students to focus on either musical theater or string performance. Participants are taught by a team of Princeton University student instructors and PROJECT MUSIC teaching artists. Musical theater students build vocal technique and confidence while learning age-appropriate repertoire, while string students strengthen instrumental skills and ensemble playing. Families may register for as many weeks as they choose, making it easy to fit summer schedules. To participate in the strings cohort, previous experience in violin, viola, or cello is required.

Archipelago’s music academy is a youth leadership program which helps student musicians realize their potential as artists, creators, and leaders.  MILA challenges students to develop their own musical voice by asking students to draw from the abstract to create something tangible, constructively critique their peers, lead discussions, suggest and support ideas and reconcile opposing views through compromise.

If selected, PROJECT MUSIC will coordinate all travel.

Cost to PM Families: $250 (Remaining $900 covered through Archipelago scholarships, donor generosity, and PROJECT MUSIC funding)

Who should apply: Students who have been in PM for at least 2 years. Concert Band and Ellington winds, brass, and percussion students.
